The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and Cache Creek Casino Resort Executive leadership has made the difficult decision to temporarily cease operations due to concern over the spread of COVID-19 in California. Cache Creek Casino Resort will begin closing procedures at 6:00 am on 3/17/2020.

History. On June 25, 1985, the Rumsey Band of the Wintun Indians (now known as the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation) opened a modest bingo hall on their Rancheria in Brooks.The popularity of Cache Creek Indian Bingo & Casino soared immediately and on October 7, 1993 the hall was expanded to include card games. Cache Creek Casino Resort is owned and operated by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, located in Brooks, California. Since its humble beginnings as a bingo hall in 1985, Cache Creek Casino Resort has grown to become one of Northern California's largest casino-resort destinations. The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation announced today that it is terminating its contract with general contractor Swinerton in association with the resort expansion project at Cache Creek Casino Resort. Construction on the project began in May 2017, and was originally scheduled to be completed in March 2019. With community members, neighbors and local leaders looking on, leaders of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation “broke pavement” for the long-awaited expansion of the hotel at their Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks. Up to 459 new rooms will be added, as well as a pool, restaurant, additional meeting space and a multipurpose ballroom. Marshall McKay, a former tribal chairman of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation who was instrumental in helping the tribe achieve economic independence, has died from Covid-19..
